Interesting idea. Similar results can be achieved by piping the results through ggrep:

$ ptree 12333
11612 gnome-terminal
12333 ksh
12354 vi
12355 sh
$ ptree 12333 | ggrep -A99 12333
12333 ksh
12354 vi
12355 sh
